Xavier Becerra holds a commanding lead in trader consensus for the Los Angeles County primary winner due to his decades-long representation of the area in Congress, prior service as state attorney general, and consolidation of Democratic endorsements from labor organizations, progressive groups, and elected officials ahead of the June 2 primary. His strong local name recognition, fundraising edge, and positioning as a fighter against federal policy shifts further bolstered support in the heavily Democratic county. Other candidates, including statewide figures like Tom Steyer and Katie Porter, split remaining Democratic votes, while Republican contenders lacked significant LA County traction. Late shifts in certified results, unexpected turnout anomalies in key precincts, or legal challenges to vote counts could still alter the outcome before final certification.
