Texas redistricting last year shifted the 32nd district's partisan balance sharply toward Republicans, creating an open seat after Democratic incumbent Julie Johnson relocated to the newly configured 33rd district. Republican primary voters nominated Jace Yarbrough, who secured the nomination outright following the withdrawal of his runoff opponent, while Democrat Dan Barrios advanced on the other side. Nonpartisan forecasters rate the contest Solid Republican, reflecting the district's new voter composition and historical performance in comparable seats. Traders have priced these structural changes into the current outcome shares, with any late-cycle polling shifts or turnout surprises representing the main variables that could still influence the November result.
