The 2026-27 NHL season opens amid tight Stanley Cup futures pricing because multiple contenders enter with comparable depth and recent momentum. Carolina, the defending champion with elite goaltending and forward balance, shares the top tier with Florida, whose offseason addition of Brady Tkachuk strengthened an already dangerous top nine, and Colorado, which posted the league’s best regular-season record before a conference-finals exit. Edmonton, Vegas, Tampa Bay, and Minnesota follow closely, each featuring proven playoff cores, strong special-teams units, and manageable injury situations heading into training camp. This parity, reinforced by roster stability across the East and West, keeps implied probabilities clustered in the single digits for the leaders and sustains the wide-open nature of the race.
