Pittsburgh Pirates hold trader consensus favoritism entering game two against the Colorado Rockies at PNC Park, buoyed by yesterday's 3-1 series-opening victory where Paul Skenes delivered eight innings of two-hit ball with dominant strikeouts. Today's probable starters—Mitch Keller (4-1, 2.87 ERA) for Pittsburgh versus Jose Quintana (1-2, 3.90 ERA) for Colorado—extend the pitching edge for the home team, which boasts a 23-19 record and 11-9 home mark compared to the road-struggling Rockies (16-26, 8-14 away). Pittsburgh catcher Joey Bart's recent 10-day IL stint for a foot infection tests depth, while Colorado's pitching staff remains thinned by injuries to Ryan Feltner and others; the visitors' pre-series wins over the Mets faded amid offensive woes against elite arms. Mild Pittsburgh weather poses no disruption.
