Pittsburgh Pirates hold a clear edge over the struggling Colorado Rockies heading into their NL matchup series at PNC Park starting May 12, buoyed by a 19-17 record and +22 run differential compared to Colorado's dismal 14-22 mark and -24 differential in the NL West. The Pirates snapped a five-game skid with a 17-run explosion against the Reds on May 2, though their 4-6 stretch over the last 10 tempers enthusiasm; Rockies limp in at 3-7 L10 amid key injuries, including RHP Ryan Feltner (ulnar nerve, mid-May return), Jeff Criswell (Tommy John) and Kris Bryant (back). Home-field advantage and Pittsburgh's deeper pitching rotation, featuring Paul Skenes (4-2, 3.18 ERA), shape trader consensus toward the hosts, with probable starters TBD and no major weather concerns.
