Malta’s snap general election on 30 May follows a shortened campaign period that has coincided with polling showing turnout estimates ranging from roughly 77% to 88%, well below the historical norm above 90%. The 2022 result of 85.6% already reflected a decline, and recent surveys highlight elevated undecided voters alongside rising abstention trends. These factors have positioned sub-85% turnout as the leading trader consensus outcome at 56.5%, with the 85-90% bracket a close second. Major parties continue mobilization efforts and overseas early-voting expansions, yet final-week participation remains the primary variable that could shift probabilities before polls close.
