Incumbent Republican Andrew Clyde secured his party's nomination with 76% in the May 2026 primary for Georgia's 9th congressional district, facing Democrat Caitlyn Gegen in the November general election. The solidly Republican district, rated safe by multiple forecasters, delivered the incumbent 69% of the vote in 2024 and carries a strong partisan lean that favors large margins. Georgia's runoff rule triggers only if no candidate reaches a majority, yet historical patterns and the absence of competitive polling or late-cycle disruptions point to an outright first-round result. Trader consensus at 98% reflects these structural factors, though an unforeseen national shift, unusually high Democratic turnout, or candidate-specific development in the final weeks could still narrow the margin below 50%.
