The filing deadline passed in March, establishing a field of seven candidates focused on local issues ahead of the nonpartisan primary that advances the top two vote-getters regardless of party affiliation. Recent candidate forums and local reporting have highlighted competing priorities on the economy, housing, and federal policy, with turnout among Democratic and Republican primary voters likely to determine advancement to the November general. No major late-breaking shifts have emerged in the final weeks before the primary.
