Flávio Bolsonaro’s commanding position in this Mato Grosso do Sul first-round market reflects his consistent lead in recent state-level polling as the Liberal Party nominee, with support concentrated among rural and agribusiness voters in a conservative-leaning region. Surveys from AtlasIntel and Real Time in late August and early September showed him ahead of Lula by double-digit margins, extending patterns seen in neighboring Mato Grosso. His July convention nomination, family political legacy, and international endorsements have consolidated the right-wing vote locally ahead of the October election. While national first-round simulations remain tighter, the state’s demographics and limited competition from other listed candidates reinforce trader consensus on his frontrunner status. Late campaign developments, turnout shifts among undecided voters, or unexpected alliances could still alter the outcome.
