The June 2026 DoD update to the Section 1260H Chinese Military Companies list added 65 entities, including parent companies such as Alibaba, Baidu, BYD, and Unitree Robotics plus dozens of subsidiaries, reflecting intensified scrutiny of firms tied to China’s military-civil fusion strategy through commercial operations in the United States. This expansion follows the January 2025 addition of roughly 70 names and underscores a pattern of broadening coverage to battery, AI, robotics, and semiconductor supply chains ahead of the June 2027 effective date for indirect procurement restrictions. Traders are watching for further designations driven by ongoing Pentagon reviews, new intelligence on PLA linkages, or policy shifts under the current administration, as the list directly influences defense contracting eligibility and broader compliance risks for U.S. entities.
