Incumbent Keelung Mayor Hsieh Kuo-liang of the Kuomintang holds a dominant position in the November 28, 2026, local election market, reflecting trader assessments of his re-election prospects in a city with longstanding KMT leanings. Hsieh survived a 2024 recall vote by a clear margin, and registration for the race closed in early September with only two notable challengers: DPP nominee and city council speaker Tung Tzu-wei, plus one independent. Earlier polling showed a tighter contest, but incumbency advantages, party infrastructure, and limited opposition have since reinforced Hsieh's lead in market pricing. The election outcome will hinge on turnout among core voting blocs and any late campaign developments in the remaining weeks.
