Mercedes leads the 2026 constructors’ championship after securing maximum points across the opening races under the new regulations, driven by superior power-unit integration, hybrid energy management, and overall car balance that has delivered every pole and victory to date. Kimi Antonelli and George Russell have converted strong qualifying pace into consistent race results, widening the gap to Ferrari and McLaren in the standings. Rivals continue development work to close the deficit in aerodynamics and straight-line speed, while minor regulatory tweaks effective from Miami have aimed to balance competition. Late-season reliability concerns, strategic missteps, or rapid gains by customer teams sharing the Mercedes power unit remain the primary factors that could alter the current market consensus.
