Trader consensus on Polymarket heavily favors Xabi Alonso at 81% implied probability to become Chelsea's next permanent Premier League manager, driven by reports of advanced internal discussions and his openness to a Premier League return following his recent departure from his prior role. The vacancy arose three weeks ago when Liam Rosenior was sacked after 106 days amid five straight goalless Premier League defeats and dressing-room unrest, marking Chelsea's latest ownership upheaval after Enzo Maresca's January exit. Filipe Luis (10%) and Frank Lampard (9%) trail as club legends with strong Stamford Bridge ties—Luis as former left-back and assistant coach prospect, Lampard via prior interim stint—while lower probabilities for Xavi Hernandez, Diego Simeone, and others reflect less concrete links amid Chelsea's shortlist focus on Alonso.
