Flávio Bolsonaro maintains a commanding position in trader pricing for first place in Rio Grande do Sul’s presidential first round, reflecting consistent local polling advantages over incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and a fragmented field of other contenders. Recent surveys in the state, including June and August 2026 releases, show the PL senator holding leads or technical ties in first-round scenarios (often 34–42% versus Lula’s 28–39%), with right-leaning voters consolidating behind the Bolsonaro-aligned candidate in a traditionally conservative region. Lower single-digit support for figures such as Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, Renan Santos, and Augusto Cury has not shifted materially, while national polling aggregates indicate tighter overall races that do not override RS-specific patterns. Traders appear to weigh the state’s electoral dynamics, limited recent volatility in candidate positioning, and the October 4 first-round timeline as factors sustaining this implied probability distribution.
