Baker Mayfield has thrown just two passing touchdowns through four games for the Buccaneers in 2026, posting 615 yards on 61-of-96 attempts with two interceptions and an 80.0 passer rating. A dislocated right thumb sustained late in Week 3 against Minnesota has sidelined the 31-year-old for at least the past two contests, with rookie Jalon Daniels starting in his place and Tampa Bay holding a 1-4 record. Official injury reports indicate Mayfield remains in a splint and faces a 3-to-6 week recovery window, potentially missing additional games against Pittsburgh and beyond. The Buccaneers’ offense ranks near the bottom in passing yards per game, with limited red-zone opportunities and a challenging remaining schedule that includes divisional matchups. Trader consensus on his season-long total reflects these usage constraints and early inefficiency.
