Nominations announced in mid-August established a tight six-way race for VMA Best Choreography 2026, with trader consensus currently favoring Harry Styles’ “Dance No More” on the strength of Ryan Heffington’s inventive, high-energy work amid Styles’ ongoing pop resurgence. GENER8ION’s “Storm starring Yung Lean,” choreographed by Damien Jalet, sits close behind thanks to its striking contemporary dance vocabulary and the track’s Video of the Year momentum, while KATSEYE’s “Pinky Up” benefits from the group’s signature precision and synchronization that has drawn strong fan and industry praise. Tate McRae’s “Nobody’s Girl,” Madonna’s “Confessions II – The Film,” and Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” round out the field, each buoyed by respected choreographers and the artists’ respective chart and critical profiles. With fan voting closing September 25 and the ceremony set for September 27, late shifts in streaming data or social buzz could still sway outcomes in this historically unpredictable category.
