Polymarket traders price an 80.5% implied probability for the April 2026 BLS average retail price of grade A large eggs falling in the $2.25–2.50 per dozen range, reflecting sustained supply recovery from 2025 avian influenza outbreaks that culled flocks and spiked prices above $5. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported March 2026 at $2.348 per dozen—down 6.1% from February's $2.50—amid ample layer hen inventories and wholesale prices plunging to $0.23 per dozen as of May 11. Retail averages lag wholesale declines, with recent USDA grocery ad prices at $2.58, but trader consensus anticipates further softening into the leading bin ahead of today's CPI data release at 8:30 a.m. ET, which will update the St. Louis Fed series resolving this market.
