Recent rumors tying a potential Half-Life 3 to Valve's upcoming Steam Machine hardware have shaped trader sentiment, positioning the long-awaited sequel as a possible spring 2026 launch title alongside the new console, controller, and Frame. After fan expectations for a reveal at The Game Awards 2025 went unmet, industry insiders like journalist Mike Straw reported credible sources confirming the game's development and bundled release strategy, reviving momentum in a franchise known for extended development cycles. This narrative draws on Valve's pattern of surprise drops and hardware synergy, with upcoming hardware announcements and any mid-year updates serving as key catalysts that could shift probabilities. The market reflects the inherent uncertainty of unconfirmed projects in a landscape where official statements remain scarce.

To qualify for a "Yes" resolution, the game must be explicitly acknowledged by Valve to be an installment of the Half-Life franchise or have the words "Half-Life" in the title. Updates to and expansion packs for already-released games will not be sufficient to resolve this market to "Yes". An announcement by Valve of a new qualifying game before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced game becomes available to the public.
The resolution source for this market will be official information from Valve or a consensus of credible sources.
