Monday's dominant 8.883 million viewers, the program's strongest telecast in five months, reflects the immediate market reaction to ABC World News Tonight's extensive coverage of the deadly 7.4-magnitude Colombia earthquake that struck on August 10. Traders recognize how major breaking international disasters reliably spike linear and streaming tune-in for the evening newscast, outpacing routine domestic stories or severe Midwest storm tracking on subsequent days. With the full Nielsen data now confirming Monday's clear lead, the 100% implied probability leaves little room for revision unless late adjustments reveal an unexpected surge elsewhere in the week.
