Incumbent Republican Andrew Clyde secured a dominant 76% in the May 2026 primary for Georgia’s 9th Congressional District, while Democrat Caitlyn Gegen advanced with 60%. The solidly Republican district, rated safe by multiple forecasters, has delivered consistent double-digit margins for GOP candidates in recent cycles. This partisan composition and low expected Democratic vote share drive trader consensus that the November 3 general election will produce a majority winner on the first ballot. A runoff remains possible only in the event of an unforeseen late scandal, health development, or dramatically higher-than-anticipated opposition turnout that narrows the margin below 50%.
