DeVonta Smith enters the 2026 NFL season as the Philadelphia Eagles’ clear top wide receiver following A.J. Brown’s offseason trade to New England. The 27-year-old Alabama product posted 77 receptions for 1,008 yards in 2025 despite sharing targets, and he has consistently delivered elevated volume and efficiency in the limited games Brown has missed. A new offensive scheme under coordinator Sean Mannion, featuring Shanahan/McVay influences, is expected to emphasize motion and spacing that could increase Smith’s route participation and target share. Rookie first-rounder Makai Lemon, along with additions like Dontayvion Wicks and Marquise Brown, plus tight end Dallas Goedert and RB Saquon Barkley, create a more distributed passing attack. Smith dealt with a hamstring injury in training camp but returned to full participation by late August and is considered healthy heading into Week 1.
