Anthropic has not yet officially released Claude 5, with trader consensus reflecting anticipation amid leaks signaling imminent progress on next-generation large language models like Sonnet 5 (codenamed "Fennec") and a potential Opus 5 variant dubbed "Mythos." Recent catalysts include a major 500,000-line Claude Code source leak exposing internal architecture four days ago, surging user demand throttling current Claude 4.x models such as Opus 4.6, and Anthropic's Science Blog launch highlighting AI's role in accelerating research. The firm's rapid iteration—from Opus 4.5 in late 2025 to 4.6 in February—positions it strongly against OpenAI and Google, but delays remain common in frontier AI development. Key upcoming events: possible Q2 previews or benchmarks that could confirm capabilities and shift market-implied odds.

For this market to resolve to "Yes," Claude 5 must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice. The release must be clearly defined and publicly announced by Anthropic as being accessible to the general public.
Claude 5 refers to a product explicitly named Claude 5 (e.g. Claude 5.0 would count), or one that is recognized as a successor to Claude 4, similar to the progression from Claude 2 to Claude 3. Products labeled as Claude 4.5 or similar will not count for this market's resolution.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Anthropic, with additional verification from a consensus of credible reporting.
