Flávio Bolsonaro maintains a commanding lead in Mato Grosso polling for the 2026 first-round presidential vote, reflecting sustained regional support in this agricultural state. Multiple surveys from mid-2026 through early September, including those by Quaest, Real Time Big Data, and Percent Brasil, place him between 39% and 47% against Lula’s 26-32%, with other names such as Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, and Renan Santos registering single digits. Traders appear to price this dominance as driven by the Liberal Party candidate’s inheritance of Bolsonarista preferences among rural and conservative voters, elevated rejection of the incumbent PT, and limited inroads by national alternatives. A shift could occur through late-campaign turnout changes, economic developments affecting agro interests, or unexpected national events altering state-level sentiment before the October 4 vote.
