Election Commission of India declared results today for the April 9 Assam Legislative Assembly election across 126 constituencies, with BJP securing 82 seats to lead the NDA alliance—including allies AGP (10 seats) and BPF (10)—in a hat-trick victory under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while INC won 19 and AIUDF 2. This commanding outcome reflects BJP's incumbency strength since 2016, voter consolidation on development and anti-incumbency against opposition, and accurate pre-poll surveys favoring the ruling coalition. Trader consensus at 100% for BJP as winner aligns with official tallies and Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi's concession. Post-result scenarios like recounts or legal challenges remain highly improbable given the decisive margins.
