Recent DoD updates to the Section 1260H Chinese Military Companies list have expanded it to 188 entities as of June 2026, incorporating major tech and AI firms such as Alibaba, Baidu, and robotics players like Unitree amid broadened statutory criteria under NDAA amendments. These designations reflect assessments of commercial entities tied to Chinese military or intelligence activities across semiconductors, electric vehicles, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence capabilities. Trader sentiment centers on the pace of future additions ahead of the June 2027 indirect procurement restrictions, with key catalysts including the next scheduled DoD review, evolving US export controls, and any new congressional mandates that could accelerate listings for companies demonstrating dual-use technologies or supply chain links.
