Early-stage speculation shapes the closely matched Polymarket odds for the 2027 Best Makeup and Hairstyling winner, with no dominant frontrunner emerging yet for the 99th Academy Awards. Traders are pricing in heavy prosthetics and character transformations across genre-driven contenders like Digger, where Tom Cruise’s aging look via Kazu Hiro has generated early buzz, Dune: Part Three’s epic sci-fi demands under Denis Villeneuve, and Clayface’s body-horror effects. The Odyssey, Michael, Werwulf, and Madden similarly benefit from anticipated period styling, biopic aging techniques, and horror prosthetics. Historical Academy preference for unrecognizable star makeovers and practical effects keeps the field competitive ahead of fall releases and guild precursors.
