Trader consensus on Polymarket has locked in a 100% implied probability for 2.6 million to 2.8 million TSA checkpoint screenings on March 27, 2026, directly confirmed by the official TSA release of 2,744,893 travelers—the precise figure fitting this bracket amid ongoing disruptions. A prolonged Department of Homeland Security shutdown, now over 40 days, has driven severe staffing shortages, with 450+ officers quitting and call-out rates hitting 40-50%, suppressing volumes despite spring break and pre-Easter demand; year-over-year throughput remains down around 9%. This strong positioning would only face realistic challenge from an unprecedented data revision by TSA, which is highly improbable given standard reporting protocols.
