This market will resolve to the next individual who officially assumes the office of Prime Minister of Spain by March 31, 2028, 11:59 PM ET. To count for resolution, the individual must receive a vote of confidence from the Congress of Deputies and be formally sworn-in, resulting in the official formation of a new government. Any interim or caretaker Prime Minister who does not receive a parliamentary vote of confidence will not count toward the resolution of this market. If no such Prime Minister takes office by March 31, 2028, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to “Other”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the Government of Spain; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Alberto Núñez Feijóo leads the market at 80.5% because recent national polling averages show his center-right People's Party (PP) ahead of Pedro Sánchez’s PSOE by 7–9 points, consistent with PP gains in 2026 regional contests such as Andalusia. Sánchez sits at 13% amid ongoing corruption investigations involving party figures, family members, and coalition partners that have eroded support and prompted speculation about early leadership challenges. Vox leader Santiago Abascal and other right-wing or regional figures remain below 5% as traders price in the likelihood of a PP-led coalition rather than a Vox-led or fragmented outcome. The next general election must occur by August 2027, with Sánchez repeatedly confirming he will seek another term while ruling out a 2026 snap vote; markets therefore treat Feijóo as the presumptive frontrunner pending any major shift in parliamentary arithmetic or coalition negotiations.
