Kawhi Leonard enters the 2026-27 season with one year and roughly $50.3 million remaining on his Clippers contract. A June 30 agreement to send him to the Toronto Raptors for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, multiple first-round picks, a pick swap, and second-rounders established the Raptors as the clear frontrunner in trader consensus. That deal remains on hold while the NBA investigates potential salary-cap circumvention tied to Clippers sponsorship arrangements, an inquiry that could extend into 2027 and directly affects whether the trade is completed. Leonard has signaled he would only commit to a long-term extension in Toronto, limiting realistic destinations if the transaction collapses and keeping the Clippers as the primary fallback at 24.3%. All other teams sit at 2.9% or lower, reflecting the absence of comparable leverage or reported interest.
