This record high, exceeding the prior benchmark of 36.6°C from 2017, resulted from Typhoon Dolphin advecting warm, humid air masses across the region under clear skies that enhanced solar heating and minimized cloud cover. Such conditions produced elevated surface temperatures consistent with climatological expectations for late-summer subtropical highs. Realistic challenges to this positioning remain limited but could include post-event data revisions from the Observatory, discrepancies between the primary station and regional sensors, or adjustments to rounding protocols, though current official reports show strong convergence on the observed peak.
