Recent state-level polling in Rio Grande do Sul shows Flávio Bolsonaro leading or tied with incumbent President Lula in first-round voting intentions, with the senator at 34-42% and Lula at 28-39% while other names remain in low single digits. Traders have priced this gap into elevated odds for Bolsonaro, reflecting the right-wing candidate’s momentum from a Supreme Court institutional crisis that has energized conservative voters ahead of the October 4 first round. Lula’s higher rejection rates in the state and limited gains for minor candidates further anchor market consensus around the frontrunner dynamic.
