Recent Focus survey medians around 5.12–5.16% and the government's upward revision to 5.1% for full-year 2026 IPCA have anchored trader consensus near the 5.00–5.49% band, which holds a 46.4% implied probability. July's 4.44% print, down from 4.64% in June and back inside the 1.5–4.5% target range, reflected softer food, transport, and fuel prices amid easing global oil pressures, yet failed to shift long-term expectations materially lower. Elevated Selic rates near 14% continue to signal restrictive monetary policy, while OECD projections of 4.4% underscore the gap between near-term moderation and year-end outcomes. Upcoming central bank communications and August inflation data remain key swing factors for these probabilities.
