Recent polls place Die Linke at 19–23 percent ahead of the September 20 Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election, often narrowly ahead of the CDU and well above its 12.2 percent share from the 2023 repeat vote. This surge, concentrated among voters prioritizing housing costs, rent regulation, and social spending, occurs in a fragmented field where the CDU, AfD, Greens, and SPD trail closely and smaller parties risk falling below the five-percent threshold. Berlin’s proportional system with overhang and leveling seats amplifies small vote swings into larger seat differences. Trader consensus on 40+ seats for Die Linke reflects these polling levels and the party’s late momentum under lead candidate Elif Eralp, while the narrow spread among leading parties leaves room for final-week shifts in turnout or preference to alter the precise band.
