Carlos Alcaraz holds the strongest position in the 2026 US Open winner market as the defending champion returning from a four-month wrist injury layoff, with recent straight-sets victories over Roman Safiullin, Wu Yibing, and Tommy Paul demonstrating sharp baseline play and mental resilience on hard courts. Jannik Sinner’s pre-tournament withdrawal with a knee injury elevated Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev, who tops the draw but has endured multiple five-set battles early on. Ben Shelton’s efficient run, including a straight-sets win over Stefanos Tsitsipas, keeps him in contention for an all-American quarterfinal clash, while Frances Tiafoe’s upset of Daniil Medvedev and advances by Learner Tien and Alex Michelsen reflect home-crowd momentum for American contenders. Trader pricing aligns with Alcaraz’s superior recent form and major pedigree against Zverev’s experience and the field’s remaining depth.
