Elon Musk's March 10 announcement that X Money—the platform's digital payments system featuring peer-to-peer transfers, FDIC-insured deposits via Cross River Bank, Visa debit cards, and up to 6% APY—will enter early public access in April has solidified trader consensus around a near-term rollout, positioning X as a fuller "everything app" competitor to WeChat Pay amid intensifying social media monetization pressures. With money transmitter licenses secured across multiple U.S. states, regulatory hurdles appear cleared, though full public accessibility (beyond closed beta) remains the key resolution criterion. No launch has occurred as of early April, leaving room for slippage; watch for in-app rollout announcements or waitlist openings before April 30 market close, as delays could shift sentiment toward later timelines.
