Elon Musk’s March 10 announcement set the primary catalyst for current trader sentiment, confirming X Money early public access would begin the following month after years of delays from the original 2024–2025 targets. X has secured money-transmitter licenses in 41 states and partnered with Visa for debit cards, peer-to-peer transfers, and yield-bearing balances inside the platform, advancing its “everything app” strategy against Venmo and Cash App. Internal testing began earlier in 2026, yet a Senate Banking Committee letter in mid-April highlighted ongoing regulatory scrutiny that could affect rollout speed. Traders are monitoring whether full feature availability or user-facing launch criteria are met before key resolution dates amid typical fintech compliance timelines.
