This market will resolve to the bracket within which the price for "Eggs, Grade A, Large (Cost per Dozen) in U.S. City Average" lies when the August data point is published by the St. Louis Fed (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000708111). The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The August release is presently scheduled for September 11, 2026. Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.**Recent U.S. egg prices have stabilized near $2.19 per dozen, supporting the market's leading $2.20–$2.30 range (62.1% implied probability).** BLS data show the national average for Grade A large eggs at $2.189 in July 2026, following $2.14 in June and a broader decline from the March 2025 peak of $6.23. This reflects flock rebuilding after 2025 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) losses, which created oversupply by early 2026 and drove wholesale benchmarks sharply lower. Retail prices remain elevated relative to pre-2022 levels due to persistent feed, fuel, and labor costs, yet they are down roughly 39% year-over-year. With no major new outbreaks reported and inventories elevated, trader consensus centers on modest month-to-month stability or slight seasonal firmness for August. The next BLS release (expected mid-September) and any updates on layer flock health or feed grain prices represent the key near-term catalysts that could shift probabilities within the narrow trading ranges.
