The Philadelphia Phillies head to Oracle Park for a three-game interleague series against the San Francisco Giants starting April 6, with both clubs navigating early-season pitching challenges after limited action. Phillies ace Zack Wheeler progresses toward an April return from a right upper extremity blood clot via minor-league rehab starts, while prospect Andrew Painter is tabbed as the likely Game 1 starter amid hamstring and oblique tweaks to relievers like Orion Kerkering. Giants' rotation led by Logan Webb and Robbie Ray faces bullpen depth issues, including 15-day IL stints for Joel Peguero's hamstring strain and multiple Tommy John recoveries like Hayden Birdsong's season-ending surgery. Phillies enter off a 4-5 loss to Texas, while Giants sit second in the NL West; recent head-to-head tilts favor San Francisco 6-4 over the last 10 meetings, with Oracle's pitcher-friendly confines and cool April weather potentially muting offenses.
