The Chicago Cubs host the Athletics for a three-game interleague series at Wrigley Field beginning June 2, where Chicago’s stronger overall roster and home advantage shape trader views. The Cubs enter near .500 or better with recent wins helping stabilize their standing, while the Athletics sit around .500 after dropping three straight to the Mariners in late May and showing a 1-9 mark in their prior 10 games. Oakland’s young core, led by Nick Kurtz and Brent Rooker, supplies power in the lineup, yet persistent rotation concerns and road struggles limit their edge away from Sacramento. Historical matchups heavily favor Chicago, and the Athletics’ thin pitching depth faces a tough test in the hitter-friendly confines.
