Surging AI training and inference demand from hyperscalers and startups, combined with ongoing TSMC CoWoS packaging and HBM memory bottlenecks, has supported elevated H100 rental rates through mid-2026 despite broader capacity additions. One-year contract prices rose nearly 40% from late 2025 lows to around $2.35 per GPU-hour by March before stabilizing in the $2–$3.50 range on neo-cloud providers, while hyperscalers continue charging premiums exceeding $6–$12. The ramp of NVIDIA's Blackwell GPUs into premium workloads is shifting H100s toward mainstream use cases, creating competitive pressure that could moderate or further segment pricing by year-end. Traders monitor supply chain reports, major cloud capacity expansions, and any shifts in enterprise AI spending patterns as key near-term catalysts.
