This market will resolve according to the individual who places second in the Republican Primary for Governor of Florida, scheduled to take place on August 18, 2026. The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the second-highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If the results are not known definitively by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be the official results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Byron Donalds leads the Florida Republican gubernatorial primary as the clear frontrunner, backed by President Trump's endorsement, substantial fundraising, and consistent polling averages near 47 percent, positioning him to claim first place on the August 18 ballot. Trader consensus places Lt. Gov. Jay Collins in second at 77 percent implied probability, reflecting his appointment to statewide office, military record, and recent straw-poll momentum in key counties, while investor James Fishback trails at 23 percent amid ongoing questions over residency requirements that survived a court challenge from Collins. Other declared candidates including former House Speaker Paul Renner and several lower-profile entrants register negligible shares, consistent with limited polling support and fundraising gaps. The primary's open nature due to term limits on the incumbent shapes the contest, with early voting already underway and no major late shifts reported in the final days.
