Speculation for Anthropic's Claude 5 large language model release has surged after a new codename "claude-jupiter-v1-p" appeared in the Claude Console on April 30, aligning with today's Code with Claude developer conference featuring hands-on demos of advanced capabilities. No official announcement emerged, however, leaving trader consensus cautious per prediction markets favoring a Q2-Q3 2026 window. Recent catalysts include Claude Opus 4.7's April 16 launch, enhancing agentic coding and multi-step reasoning amid resolved backlash over 4.x throttling, plus today's higher usage limits tied to a SpaceX compute deal for over 220,000 GPUs. OpenAI's GPT-5.5 rollout heightens competitive pressure on benchmarks like SWE-bench; post-event disclosures could shift sentiment rapidly.

For this market to resolve to "Yes," Claude 5 must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice. The release must be clearly defined and publicly announced by Anthropic as being accessible to the general public.
Claude 5 refers to a product explicitly named Claude 5 (e.g. Claude 5.0 would count), or one that is recognized as a successor to Claude 4, similar to the progression from Claude 2 to Claude 3. Products labeled as Claude 4.5 or similar will not count for this market's resolution.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Anthropic, with additional verification from a consensus of credible reporting.
