The 2026 CFL regular season opens with the Montreal Alouettes visiting the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday night at Tim Hortons Field. The matchup serves as a rematch of the 2025 East Division Final, which Montreal won on a late field goal after Hamilton led the division standings late in the regular season. Both clubs enter at 0-0, with Hamilton marking its first home opener since 2019. Linebacker Wynton McManis, a key defensive contributor, has been ruled out for Hamilton due to a knee injury. The contest features typical early-season uncertainties around roster health, scheme execution, and weather conditions at the outdoor venue.
