California's newly redrawn 6th Congressional District, altered by Proposition 50 redistricting to favor Democrats overall while retaining some suburban Republican-leaning pockets around Sacramento, Rocklin, and Roseville, features an open top-two primary on June 2, 2026. Incumbent Kevin Kiley, who switched from Republican to no party preference after leaving his prior seat, competes against a crowded Democratic field including former state Senator Richard Pan, Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho, Planned Parenthood executive Lauren Babb Tomlinson, and Mayor Martha Guerrero, plus one additional Republican. Early vote tallies show Kiley leading, with the second spot contested among Democrats; the top two advance to the November general election.
