Lula holds the strongest position among traders to finish first in Tocantins in the October 4 first round, reflecting recent state polls that place him narrowly ahead or tied with Flávio Bolsonaro. A late-August Quaest survey showed Lula at 37% to Flávio’s 32%, while Real Time Big Data found both at 36%, with Ronaldo Caiado at 6-7% and all other listed candidates in low single digits or below. Tocantins’ electorate, which gave Lula a narrow 2022 win, continues to show polarized support between the PT incumbent and the PL senator backed by the Bolsonaro family network. Lower polling for alternatives such as Romeu Zema, Pablo Marçal, and Renan Santos reinforces the two-candidate dynamic in the state, sustaining Lula’s edge in implied probability despite the overall national race remaining tight.
