**Flavio Bolsonaro leads trader consensus for first place in Rio de Janeiro’s first-round presidential vote due to consistent local polling advantages in his home state.** Recent surveys from Datafolha, Quaest, and Real Time Big Data (July–early September 2026) show the PL senator ahead or statistically tied with incumbent President Lula (PT), typically in the 32–41% range versus Lula’s 30–37%, with other tested names such as Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, Renan Santos, and Augusto Cury registering single digits or lower. This positioning reflects Flavio’s established voter base in a state where his father previously performed strongly, contrasting with national aggregates where Lula holds a broader lead. Minor candidates including Pablo Marçal, Clariana Barão, and others remain at negligible levels in Rio-specific testing. The first-round contest occurs October 4, with no major late shifts reported in state-level data.
