Flavio Bolsonaro maintains a commanding lead in Mato Grosso first-round polling for the October 2026 presidential election, with recent surveys showing him at 41% against Lula’s 32% and single-digit support for other names. The state’s agricultural economy and voter preferences on security and agribusiness policy align with his Liberal Party platform and the broader Bolsonarista base. Consistent polling margins since mid-2026, reinforced by campaign stops in the region, underpin trader consensus on his frontrunner status. Factors that could narrow the gap include stronger showings by Ronaldo Caiado or Romeu Zema fragmenting the center-right vote, shifts in undecided or low-turnout segments, or national developments altering state-level dynamics before election day.
