Recent defections from the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) to the Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP) have tightened the race ahead of the September 14, 2026, parliamentary election in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. COMELEC has designated UBJP the dominant majority party and BFP the dominant minority, while BFP secured early unopposed wins in select districts and installed new leadership. These shifts have positioned BFP as the narrow favorite among traders, though UBJP retains strong institutional backing tied to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. With campaigning underway and numerous smaller parties in contention, outcomes hinge on voter turnout in key provinces, further coalition movements, and any late adjustments in party lists before election day.
