Kalieva advanced convincingly yesterday, crushing veteran Madison Brengle 6-2, 6-0 with six aces and a perfect break-point save record, signaling sharp form entering her first Charleston appearance. The 19-year-old Urhobo, riding two ITF W35 clay titles this year, upset seventh-seeded Whitney Osuigwe 6-2, 6-2 while saving all six break points, highlighting her defensive resilience and recent momentum. Both Americans enter fresh without sets dropped in quals, but Kalieva's higher ranking and experience temper Urhobo's upset potential amid variable Lowcountry weather.
