Paul St-Pierre Plamondon of the Parti Québécois holds the leading trader consensus for Quebec’s next premier ahead of the October 5, 2026, general election, driven by sustained polling strength among francophone voters and a series of recent by-election gains. The PQ’s momentum has persisted despite leadership transitions in the governing Coalition Avenir Québec, where Christine Fréchette succeeded François Legault in April, and the Quebec Liberal Party, where Charles Milliard assumed the role earlier in the year. These shifts, combined with ongoing three-way competition reflected in recent surveys, have kept alternative outcomes viable while reinforcing Plamondon’s position as the market’s implied frontrunner.
