Pete Crow-Armstrong has built an overwhelming lead in 2026 WAR through elite production across batting, defense, and baserunning as the Cubs center fielder. He enters the final week with roughly 9.4–10.3 WAR, powered by a .280/.372/.576 slash line, 44 home runs, 105 RBIs, 37 stolen bases, and standout outfield metrics including high fielding run value and catch probability. Pitchers such as Cristopher Sánchez and Jacob Misiorowski trail in the mid-to-high single digits, while two-way contributor Shohei Ohtani and others like Bobby Witt Jr. and Yordan Alvarez sit further back due to fewer total contributions or role limitations. With the regular season nearly complete, trader consensus reflects the slim chance of any realistic catch-up absent extraordinary late swings or measurement adjustments.
